Coach Mazza came to the Patriots after coaching at Harford Tech High school since 2001 (The last 4 years as head coach).  During this time, the team won a State Championship in 2006 and State Runner up in 2003 and 2004. He was the Assistant Coach of the year for Region 2 (National Wrestling Coaches Association) in 2002 and Coach of the Year in 2015 for the Upper Chesapeake Bay Athletic Conference.

Coach Mazza graduated from North East High School (Erie, PA) in 1984. He went on to wrestle for Lock Haven University (Ranked in the top 15 Division I) from 1984 to 1988. He wrestled varsity matches in 5 of the 10 weight classes (158-HWT).  In 1988, he placed 3rd at 167lbs at the Mat Town USA tournament (10 teams) and 5th at HWT at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championships (14 teams).

Coach Mazza graduated with a Physics Degree in 1989 and commissioned as an Army Officer in Field Artillery. He was on active duty the next 10 years serving in Germany, Iraq during Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Ft. Stewart Georgia, and Aberdeen Proving Ground. From 1999 to 2009 he served in the Reserves on APG and retired in 2009 at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.  From 1999-2014 he was employed in multiple defense contracting positions on APG. He is currently President/CEO of Vetza Management Solutions, a service disabled veteran owned small business specializing in General Contracting, Construction Management, and Disaster Recovery Services and Restoration.
