The John Carroll girls basketball took on the area's third-ranked team, Jan. 19, and suffered a 58-42 loss to Roland Park Country, in a IAAM A Conference action. The Patriots began the game hot exchanging baskets in the first quarter to end up tied at 15 after one quarter. Roland Park, however, got even hotter in the second quarter, taking a 9-point lead into halftime. The Patriots battled but just could not get over the hump in the second half. Foul trouble limited the JC interior game in the second half. Jordan Wakefield scored a team high 16 points. Savannah Simmons was the only other scorer in double figures with 15 points. The Pats have a quick turnaround as they take on Howard HS in the Public vs Private event on Saturday (1/20) at McDonogh School.
